Frequently Asked Questions – Bristol Tattoo Artist

If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, you’re always welcome to get in touch via the enquiry form.

  • I am based in The Galleries Shopping Centre in the heart of Bristol City Centre.

The studio is easily accessible from across Bristol and the surrounding South West region. Full address details and a map can be found on the contact section of this website.

  • IEvery tattoo is priced individually.

    Pricing depends on:

    • Size

    • Placement

    • Level of detail

    • Style (realism, fine line or anime)

    • Estimated session time

Highly detailed realism tattoos typically require longer sessions than smaller fine line designs, so pricing reflects the time and technical work involved.

My minimum charge is £80. The only exception is selected flash designs, which may be available at a reduced rate.

For an accurate quote, please submit an enquiry with as much detail as possible.

  • Yes. All appointments require a minimum £50 deposit to secure the booking.

Larger pieces — especially full-day sessions or multi-session realism projects — may require a higher deposit.

Deposits are non-refundable and are deducted from the final cost of your tattoo.

  • If you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment, you must give at least 72 hours’ notice. Failure to do so will result in the loss of your deposit.

I operate a “three strike” policy. If you cancel three times for the same tattoo project, your deposit will be forfeited and I will not rebook the appointment, even if the tattoo is unfinished.

This ensures fairness and protects studio time.

3 strikes and your out. If you cancel 3 times for the same tattoo you will lose your deposit and I will not rebook your appointment, regardless of if there is unfinished work.

  • To ensure the best possible session:

    • Be well rested

    • Eat a proper carb-filled meal beforehand (McDonald’s breakfast is always a solid choice)

    • Arrive sober

    • Stay hydrated

    • Bring a sugary drink for longer sessions

In the days leading up to your appointment, moisturise the area daily. Healthy, hydrated skin tattoos and heals far better than dry or damaged skin.

  • In a perfect world, tattoos wouldn’t hurt — but some level of discomfort is normal.

I don’t turn clients away for wanting to use numbing cream, but I strongly recommend discussing it with me beforehand.

    Numbing creams can:

    • Affect how the skin reacts

    • Impact the tattooing process

    • Interfere with healing

If you’re considering using one, please message me first so we can talk it through properly.

  • I accept:

    • Bank transfer

    • Cash (preferred due to poor signal in the studio)

Final balances are due on the day of your appointment.

  • No. I cannot tattoo anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • Yes — I have professional boundaries in place.

    I do not tattoo:

    • Inner lips

    • Eyelids

    • Palms

    • Soles of the feet

    • Genitalia

If you’re unsure about a placement, feel free to ask before booking.

  • Aftercare is essential for proper healing and long-term clarity.

    1. Your tattoo will be wrapped in cling film after the appointment. Keep it on for approximately 2 hours (unless instructed otherwise).

    2. Clean the area gently using antibacterial, non-scented soap.

    3. Allow it to air dry or pat dry with clean paper towel.

    4. Apply a thin layer of aftercare balm.

    5. Repeat twice daily for two weeks.

    6. Avoid direct sunlight, swimming, baths, hot tubs or soaking the tattoo.

Following correct aftercare helps your tattoo heal cleanly and maintain strong contrast over time.

  • Session length depends on size, detail and placement.

Small fine line tattoos may take under an hour, while detailed realism or large anime pieces often require multiple sessions.

During your enquiry, I’ll give you an estimated timeframe based on your idea.

  • I specialise in three distinct styles:

    • High contrast black and grey realism

    • Fine line tattoos

    • Anime and manga-inspired tattoos

Each style creates a different visual impact and requires a different technical approach. If you’re unsure which direction suits your idea, we’ll discuss it during the consultation process.

  • All bookings are made via enquiry form.

    Please include:

    • A clear description of your idea

    • Reference images (if applicable)

    • Preferred size

    • Placement

    • Black and grey or selective colour accents (for anime tattoos)

Once I’ve reviewed your idea, I’ll respond with availability and next steps.
